What is CAPE® ?

The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE®) is a regional pre-university qualification developed by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) in response to the need for an advanced certification system tailored to the Caribbean context while maintaining international academic standards comparable to traditional Advanced Level qualifications. Students in this programme follow this course of study and take the CAPE exams at the end of each year in this two (2) year programme.

The Caribbean Examinations Council offers three types of certification at the CAPE level.

1. The first is the award of a certificate showing each CAPE Unit completed.

2. The second is the CAPE Diploma, awarded to candidates who have satisfactorily completed at least six Units, including Caribbean Studies.

3. The third is the CXC Associate Degree, awarded for the satisfactory completion of a prescribed cluster of eight CAPE Units including Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies and Integrated Mathematics. Integrated Mathematics is not a requirement for the CXC Associate Degree in Mathematics.

At AcademiX School of Learning, the CAPE programme is delivered through a structured online learning environment that combines live instruction, recorded lectures, guided learning resources, SBA support, and continuous academic engagement to prepare students for university, the workforce, and lifelong learning.
